There’s Something in the Hair

21 Feb

Make up internships and jobs can lead you to unexpected places.. that’s something i learnt last week. Not like i’ve never been told that being a good makeup artist implies hair styling skills..

I was asked to make a wig for a theater play (Pinocchio’s father). It was to look “yellow, dramatic, funny and like it’s made out of straw”.

Then i got to do some fake beard tests for a photo shoot (tests were done on myself and it was a pretty traumatic experience.. i got the f** feeling that i looked like george michael in the 80’s.. and that was not pleasant).

.. it’s all ’bout the Hair they say?

Clowning yourself to Death

12 Feb

So i’m finally putting up the Clown Project pictures, from trials to exam shots. The brief was: “a clown”, the rest, costume included was up to me. This is the Character i created, not too colourful, not happy, not sad. A classy dandy clown, serious, slightly mean and a tad naughty.  Maybe quite like me.

Morpho-psychology & Makeup

5 Dec

Applied Morpho-psychology class. “Pushed Natural” Makeup. Here, it’s all about taking care of the unique features of one’s face and balancing some areas or proportions with makeup. And of course, it is about tricking the eye, it should appear effortless and the face should remain natural and pretty, with all it’s liveliness, dimension and character kept intact.
